Day 3
19 June (Punderson State Park, OH)
I woke up early and took a chair down to the water to take in the morning.
The mist over the lake was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I watched an osprey swoop down and catch a fish in the water! Chipmunks are everywhere. A blackbird visited me while watching the lake. This was a glorious start to a beautiful Father's Day. We ate banana-Nutella French toast and relaxed around the campsite until going for a hike around Stump Lake, adjacent from Punderson Lake.
It was a small, overgrown hike that stretched us out for the future. It was about 2.5 miles all through, and it took us through the rest of the campsites at this campground.
I was overwhelmed with love and gratitude all day, thinking about my loves and how much happiness I find in both my wife and children.
They were so sweet and loving - Evelyn wrote a scavenger hunt and Cassandra bought me biking balm ("Tender Bits" from Mt. Royal Soap), an egg holder, and stainless steel camping sporks! This was just a really good day! All evening at the campground, we kept it mellow, watched chipmunks having a blast, and felt pure family love.
We all feel excited to get moving tomorrow!
